Gwinnett County Home Sales Report

I figure you've heard enough about how bad the economy and housing market is so I'm going to report some good news! Homes are selling in Gwinnett and surrounding counties. Although the number of sales in November was down from Oct, things are still moving in a period that typically slows every year. This could be attributed to several things but mostly because folks are so busy during the holidays.

"But I just don't want my home to be on the market during Christmas". I hear this a lot during this time of the year but honestly there couldn't be a better time to be on the market. Here's why......Hundreds, if not thousands of sellers have the same thought and they actually pull their home off the market. So their potential buyers become your potential buyers! Less competition means more buyers see your home.

"But Steve, I don't want the added stress of selling a home during the holidays". I understand and believe me, there's always a little stress involved but a good Realtor will keep that to a minimum. After all, Christmas does come around every year and if it meant selling your home and moving on would you sacrifice a little this year? Probably so.

So, I promised some good news about the Gwinnett Real Estate market and here it is. There were 494 homes sold in Gwinnett County in November! Although that number was down from October slightly, it's still a lot of activity folks. Average days on market for November in Gwinnett was 119 days, which is down slightly from Oct.

If you're thinking of selling your home, it can be done! It's a price war and a beauty contest so be prepared for a little work. Let these numbers be your motivation.....wouldn't you like to be one of the 494+ next month?
